Godrej Safire Safes Fire Protection for 90 Minutes
Godrej Safire Safes are tested and certified by SP - the Technical Research Institute of Sweden in accordance with the Nordic Test NT FIRE 017. These units are rated for 90 minutes fire protection for paper records.
How are these safes tested ?
The unit is inserted in a furnace and the temperature raised to more than 1000 degrees Celsius. In order for the paper to be protected, the temperature inside the safe should not exceed 170 degrees Celsius. Since the burning point of paper ranges between 218 and 233 degrees Celsius, there is indeed a wide margin to protect paper documents for the specified time.
